Strain theorists believe that crime occurs because of the American need to conform. Sociologists have often wondered why people commit crime.В The Strain and Control theoriesВ have both linkedВ crime with conformism, however, in opposite ways.

In other words, they need to compensate so when they do finally achieve that dream they are seen by the rest of society that they are capable of blending into society.
